The Musicians of Bizerka
 |
Jody Porter : Violin
Living a sheltered life, surrounded by the likes of Beethoven,
Bach and Mozart, she was ripped out and thrown into the mix when
she was inundated with all sorts of scary sounds (and people!).
With her years of classical training tossed to the wind, she forges
on (you have no other choice when you're this far from home). |
 |
Nick Hagan : Guitar
After spending 6 months in Sarajevo, Bizerka's guitarist
gave up his dream of becoming a rock god in an aging supergroup
to focus on promoting the virtues of Turbo Folk and Manele music
down under.
Known for his obsession with the Eurovision voting system, Nick
has been pickpocketed by Gypsies on several occasions. |
 |
Nigel McLaughlin : Accordion
Banished forever from Canberra, Australia for the crime
of playing Piano Accordion, Nigel now resides in the more culturally
aware city of Melbourne.
Since moving here, he has become accustomed to people getting a
wistful look in their eyes and saying "my Grandfather used
to play Accordion". This phrase has made him very happy. |
 |
Francesca McCarten : Cello
Some people say that a Cello is just a Double Bass for midgets,
but we disagree!
It's a soulful instrument capable of producing beautiful and sonorous
sounds in much less time than it takes to make a Viola sound good! |
 |
Teal the Mystery Man : Percussion
Teal refuses to tell us his surname as the Spanish Mafiia are still
trying to track him down after he rigged their national lottery.
Nevertheless, he has excellent percussion chops and pushes the
tempo higher and higher until everyone's fingers begin to bleed! |
